Start with an early pick-up at your hotel by an English-speaking guide, and head to the Old Havana historical center to start the tour. There you will discover the fascinating streets, plazas and quarters dating back to the 18th century, which has been recognized by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Fall in love with Plaza Vieja, Plaza the Armas, and the Cathedral Square, continue towards San Francisco de Assis Square, then visit an arts and crafts market to choose gifts and souvenirs and interact with local craftsmen. Continue as you cross the tunnel of Havana harbor on your way to the Morro Cabaña Fortress, an old fort dating back to the colonial era built to protect the city from buccaneers and pirates. From here you’ll enjoy the most incredible and breathtaking panoramic view of Havana. You’ll continue towards the National Capitol Building, the Great Theater of Havana, the empowering Revolution Square, Central Park, Parque de la Fraternidad, and Havana University. You’ll get to appreciate Vedado’s modernist architecture and vibrant cultural life. You’ll end the day at the highly talked about rum factory “Bocoy” where you’ll learn about the tradition and heritage of sugar cane distillation before you make your way back to the hotel. On this packed day, you should also expect to learn about the Cuban revolution and everyday life through the point of views of locals.
