When it comes to art, we Cubans are artists by nature!

Our Spanish and African heritage made us reflective and appreciative of the arts in its many formats. From traditional institutions to private art galleries, you can get lost in works that show our perceptions and responses to the world around us. 
 
The National Museum of Fine Arts: This world-class museum occupies two buildings in the vicinity of the Paseo del Prado: the Palace of Fine Arts, destined for Cuban art, and the Asturian Center Palace, dedicated to global art. It houses the largest collection of Latin American paintings and sculptures in the Caribbean and works by the finest Cuban artists. Genesis: This interesting gallery tour takes you through several galleries and screen-printing workshops of renowned Cuban and international artists, such as René Portocarrero, Carlos Enríquez, Amelia Peláez, Wifredo Lam, Flora Fong, Zaida del Río, Manuel Mendive and Roberto Fabelo, who have exerted a great influence in the Cuban culture.  26th #109 bt/ 1st y 3rd, Miramar, Playa, Cuba

Project of the neighborhood of Santo Ángel: Started in Old Havana by a group of young artists, the Santo Angel art project opens to the public the last Thursday of every month at 7pm, providing the opportunity to visit a score of artist studios, interact with young Cuban artist, and take home one of their works.
