You’ll find traditional dance and live music clubs all over Havana, but if the underground scene is more of your thing, we suggest that you check out the Fábrica de Arte Cubano, known as FAC.
It's become the place where Habaneros seeking to escape the mainstream gather for alternative music, art, film, and theater. What makes this multicomplex so appealing is its location inside an old kitchen oil factory made of large stones with a gigantic chimney.
This space promotes works of young creatives in all artistic disciplines: Cinema, music, dance, theater, plastic arts, literature, photography, fashion and graphic design. You’ll find something refreshing and exciting happening in each visit because FAC is a living organism where creativity and expression constantly flow into every room.
And because we Cubans could never leave gastronomy behind, we recommend you have dinner at El Cocinero restaurant, located on the FAC rooftop and serving international and local cuisine.
La Fabrica opens Thursday to Sunday nights, and it’s located at 11th and 26th Streets, Vedado.
